DODGE CITY – Adrian “Shorty” Dalton, 84, died Thursday, May 21, 2026 at The Harrison at Heritage, Ft. Worth, Texas.

He was born March 30, 1942 at Chanute, Kansas, the son of Lloyd Carl and Doris Maxien (Cox) Dalton. On April 7, 1963 he married LaDonna Eastburn at Chanute and in 1973 they moved to Dodge City. He owned and operated Dalton Brothers, Inc. for over 40 years until retiring in 2006. He enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Steve Dalton, Dodge City and Alex Dalton and wife Amy, Rhome, Texas; and 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner and Ryleigh Dalton. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Scott Dalton, his wife LaDonna on February 17, 2025 and 2 brothers.

Memorial service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Jeff Hiers officiating. Inurnment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
