DODGE CITY - Amalia Gonzalez Francisco, 43 died Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas. She was surrounded by the family she spent her life nurturing.

She was born on August 28, 1982 in Soloma, Guatemala. She was the daughter of Mateo Gonzalez and Juana Francisco.

Amalia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, deep faith, and a family that she worked tirelessly for. If you knew Amalia you knew she was a force of nature. She took on challenges and always found a way to sprinkle in some humor. Amalia always helped people in need and served her community. Above all, she valued family. The light of her life was undoubtedly her grandson.

She is survived by her fiancé, Edgar Meza. Her 3 children, Juana Ixcoy Gonzalez, Lester Ixcoy Gonzalez, and Daniel Ixcoy Gonzalez. Her daughter in law, Elbira Mendoza. Her 2 sisters, Francisca Gonzalez and Rosaura Gonzalez; one brother, Amilcar Gonzalez, and a grandson, Alonzo Ixcoy Mendoza.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Juana Francisco, and son, Brian Ixcoy.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City with Pastor Joel Tuchez officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. Visitation will be held Thursday prior to the service from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.

In honor of her generous spirit, donations can be made to Juana Ixcoy Gonzalez to be used for the Amalia Gonzalez Memorial Fund in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.

DODGE CITY - Amalia González Francisco, de 43 años, falleció el miércoles 11 de febrero de 2026 en Ascension Via Christi St. Francis de Wichita, Kansas. Estuvo rodeada de la familia que dedicó toda su vida a criar.

Nació el 28 de agosto de 1982 en Soloma, Guatemala. Era hija de Mateo González y Juana Francisco. Amalia fue una madre, abuela y amiga devota.

Deja un legado de trabajo duro, una fe profunda y una familia por la que trabajó incansablemente. Si conocías a Amalia, sabías que era una fuerza de la naturaleza. Afrontaba los retos y siempre encontraba la manera de darle un toque de humor. Amalia siempre ayudó a los necesitados y sirvió a su comunidad. Por encima de todo, valoraba a su familia. La luz de su vida fue, sin duda, su nieto.

Le sobreviven su prometido, Edgar Meza; sus tres hijos: Juana Ixcoy González, Lester Ixcoy González y Daniel Ixcoy González; su nuera, Elbira Mendoza; sus dos hermanas, Francisca González y Rosaura González; su hermano, Amílcar González; y su nieto, Alonso Ixcoy Mendoza.

Le precedieron en la muerte su madre, Juana Francisco, y su hijo, Brian Ixcoy.

El funeral se llevará a cabo el jueves 19 de febrero de 2026 a las 2:00 pm en la Funeraria Ziegler, Dodge City, oficiado por el pastor Joel Tuchez. El entierro se realizará posteriormente en el Cementerio Maple Grove, Dodge City. El velatorio se realizará el jueves anterior al servicio, de 10:00 am a 2:00 pm en la Funeraria Ziegler.
