DODGE CITY – Anita de Casas Bañuelos, 73, died Monday, February 21, 2022, at her home in Dodge City.

She was born June 4, 1948, at La Pastoria, Zacatecas, Mexico, the daughter of Pedro Casas and Maria Dolores Bañuelos, and granddaughter to Francisco Bañuelos and Juliana Esparsa.  A Dodge City resident since 1994, moving from Zacatecas, she dedicated her life to her Christian Catholic faith preaching God's word.

Survivors include: 3 brothers, Everardo de Casas, Laguna Grande, Zacatecas, Isaias de Casas, Pasadena, California and Ignacio de Casas, Ensign, Kansas; 2 sisters, Enelia de Casas, Dodge City and Evelia Cabeen, Dumas, Texas; 18 nephews and nieces and 16 great nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Refugio de Casas, Manuel de Casas and Arturo de Casas, and a sister, Mercedes de Casas.

Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 901 Central Ave., Dodge City.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Monday at the church with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.  Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
