DODGE CITY, KANSAS – Barbara (Babs) Ann (Michel) Wetmore, 89, died Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains in Dodge City, Kansas.

She was born July 3, 1934, at Meadville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Robert and Noma (Dodds) Michel. On June 12, 1955, she married Joseph Robert Wetmore in Union City, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2003. Barbara was an equal partner in her husband's dairy farm operation, homemaker, family advocate, avid reader/grammarian and a member of the Elgin-Beaverdam Hose Company Women's Auxiliary. In October of 2022, Barbara moved to Dodge City, Kansas from Corry, Pennsylvania to be with her son.

Survivors include a son, Bob (Rob, Robbie) Wetmore and wife Liz of Dodge City, Kansas; and a daughter, Barb Moore of Erie, Pennsylvania. Three grandchildren: Dan Moore and wife Gayle of Erie; Kate Moore of Erie; and Khannah Wetmore of Euclid, Ohio. Three great-grandchildren: Gabriella, Brooklyn and Caitlyn Moore of Erie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Michael II, whose wife Myrle Michel of Union City, Pennsylvania survives.

There is no public visitation as cremation has taken place. A private family tribute will take place at a later date.
