DODGE CITY – Cheryl Lynn Kelly, 76, died Monday, March 28, 2022 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas.

She was born on April 13, 1945 at West Hollywood, California the daughter of Harry Schooler and Theora (Crebbs) O'Grady. She was a lifetime area resident. Cheryl spent most of her time dedicating her time to animals especially dogs. She was a volunteer at the Ford County Humane Society. She also had an AKC Membership. She loved to rescue dogs, horses and animals of all types. During her spare time, she also enjoyed working in the yard.

She was married to Dennis Droste in 1970. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2013. She later married Michael Kelly. He also preceded her in death September 1991.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Cary Droste, Dodge City, Kansas and Chad Droste, Holly, Colorado; a sister, Anna King, Phoenix, Arizona; 2 grandchildren, Chelsea Droste, Liberal, Kansas and Dennis Droste, Derby, Kansas; and 2 great grandchildren, Isaac and Odin Castenada, Liberal, Kansas.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Private family services will be held at a later date. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
