DODGE CITY – Dale Eichman, 84, died Thursday, April 16, 2026 at his home in rural Ford County surrounded by his wife and children.

He was born June 7, 1941 near Lamar, Colorado, the son of Alex A. and Louise S. (Nufer) Eichman.  He moved to Dodge City with his family at two weeks old and worked as a farmer and rancher in the region for nearly 70 years.

On November 10, 1963 he married Carolyn Hansen at Grace Lutheran Church in Larned, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Carolyn, and 2 daughters, Laurie Shepard of Amarillo, Texas and Carla Musslin and husband Matt of Dodge City.  Survivors also include 4 granddaughters: Haley and husband Brandon, Abigail and husband Clifford, Rachel and husband Troy all of Texas; and Macy of Dodge City; 1 great grandson Coen of Texas. Dale's brother, Marvin Eichman, Dodge City; and several nieces, nephews and their families also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date with announcement to follow.  There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
