DODGE CITY – David Richard Collins, 63 died Monday, November 15, 2021 at his home in Ford, Kansas.

He was born on January 30, 1958 at Cabool, Missouri the son of Richard Hubert and Betty Lucille (Gilbert) Collins. He was a lifetime area resident. He worked as a truck driver for 37 years driving for Sallee Inc., in Dodge City for 17 of those years. Dave was an avid bowler and loved going fishing, playing card games and dominoes with his wife. He enjoyed hunting, watching TV and feeding the squirrels and watching them through the kitchen window. He loved to talk to his friends on the phone, especially Bob Daley.

In 2001 he met Karmon Moog they married on March 2, 2007 at Dodge City, Kansas. She survives.

Survivors also include: his mother, Betty Hale, Minneola; sister, Cathy Yates, Minneola; brother, Dennis Collins, Muldrow, Oklahoma; aunt, Josy McDowell and husband Max, Minneola; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a sister, Linda Collins.

Graveside service will be Friday, November 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Appleton Township Cemetery, Minneola with Pastor Suzie Woods officiating. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Friends and family may sign the register book Thursday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
