DODGE CITY – David L. Stone, 59, died Sunday, March 28, 2021 at his home in Dodge City.

He was born October 26, 1961 at Dodge City, the son of Noble Reed and Velma C. (Harden) Stone.  He was a graduate of Dodge City High School and lifetime Dodge City resident.  He was the owner and operator of Stone Pumping & Excavating for over 40 years.  His biggest joy in life was being "Papa".

On October 31, 1982 he married Debra Randall at Dodge City.  They later divorced.

Survivors include: his daughter, Tara McCabe and husband Jason, Dodge City; his son, Christopher Stone and fiancé Cally Buehne, Dodge City; his mother, Velma Stone, Dodge City; a sister, Betty Spease and husband Kenny, Dodge City; 2 grandchildren, Liam McCabe and Lucas Stone; a niece, Jennifer McCarley; and 3 nephews, Jason Spease, Brad Spease and Justin Littrel.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Brenda Rowley.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Friday, April 2, 2021 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Scott Tilley officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.  Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 8:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
