DODGE CITY – Deloris J. Blackburn, 88, died Friday, April 5, 2024 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

She was born April 6, 1935 at Bucklin, the daughter of Clarence and Dorothy (Sherwood) Fulton.  She was a graduate of Bucklin High School and a lifetime are resident.  She was a secretary throughout her life working for Plaza Professional Credit Bureau, H&R Block and G&G Car and Truck Supercenters all in Dodge City.  She was a member of Dodge City AMBUCS as well as an avid bowler. She enjoyed walking, having coffee and lunch with friends.

On October 17, 1959 she married Melvin Blackburn at Clayton, New Mexico.  He preceded her in death on July 20, 2016.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Michael, Dodge City and Chad and wife Krystal, Alexander, Kansas; 9 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a brother, Ronnie Fulton and wife Mary Lynn, Bucklin.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Bradley and Gregory Blackburn, a daughter, Arlene Kingsly and a niece, Rachel Fulton.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with David Johnson officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.  There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.  Friends may sign the register from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Wednesday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
