DODGE CITY – Donald "Ducky" Stenzel, 60, died Friday, January 16, 2026 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born November 26, 1965 at Dodge City, the son of Henry, Jr. and LaVera R. (Deines) Stenzel.  He was a graduate of Dodge City High School and a lifetime Dodge City resident.  For the past 8 years, he worked in housekeeping at the Kansas Soldiers Home, Ft. Dodge.

He enjoyed making knives, fishing, car races and going to the rodeo. He also loved to talk to anyone and everyone and was always there to help them if ever they needed it. He never expected anything in return. There wasn't anyone he didn't love or care for.

He married Lynn Steimel, she survives.

Other survivors include: 2 sons, Anthony Steimel and Allen R. Steimel both of Dodge City; his siblings, Roberta Hornbaker and husband Jack, Copeland, Kansas, Marvin Stenzel, Dodge City and Debra Stenzel and husband Scott Baxley, Ft. Worth, Texas as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Wire.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am Friday, January 23, 2026 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Dodge City, with David Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City.  Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 8:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
