Eric Wesley
Flinn
Apr 21, 1960 — Oct 5, 2024
DODGE CITY- Eric W. Flinn (Rick), 64, passed peacefully on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City, KS. Born April 21st, 1960 at Hays, KS, he was the oldest son of Arnold and Belva Flinn.
Rick attended school in Oakley, KS, and after graduating high school, he moved to Dodge City, KS, where he became a life time resident. Rick worked at Winter Feedyard for 30 years. He enjoyed what he did for a living and very rarely ate beef because he prided himself in taking care of those cows and feeding them. Rick often worked 14+ hours a day going in at 3:00 AM to make sure there was enough feed for the cows and to get them fed and taken care of. Rick was over the mill in charge of the corn for the cows.
In 2010, Rick met his soulmate, Sandy Brack. Rick and Sandy enjoyed a beautiful life together. Often times it was discussed how they wished they had met earlier in life to be able to enjoy each other and all that life had to offer for longer together. During Rick and Sandy's time together, Rick gained another loving family. This family included parents, Barton and Clara, two sister-in-laws, and a brother-in-law that he enjoyed spending time with. One of his highlights of his in-laws was celebrating Barton and Clara's 70th wedding anniversary. Rick also gained a daughter and son-in-law which from that he gained his most precious of all, his grandchildren. Rick enjoyed spending time with Sandy's family and he really enjoyed when he was able to spend time with his grandchildren whether tat be watching them play sports, talking to them on the phone, spending time outside together, or sitting in the house watching movies.
Rick is survived by his soulmate, Sandy Brack of Dodge City; his mother, Belva Flinn of Dodge City; one brother, Mitch Flinn of Dodge City; two daughters, Bridgett Zerr and husband Corey of Grove, Oklahoma; Mirissa Kelley and husband Chad of Dodge City; four grandchildren, Austin and Brooklyn Zerr and Kye and Hudson Kelley.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his dad, Arnold Flinn; and one brother, Wesley Flinn.
