MEADE – Eva Ruth Johannsen, 79, died Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade.

She was born March 12, 1942 at Inman, Kansas, the daughter of Jacob T. and Sarah (Wiebe) Harder.  She worked as a CNA for the Fowler Nursing Home, was the Curator at the Meade County Historical Society and the coordinator for the Food Bank in Meade as well as being a homemaker.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Meade and enjoyed genealogy and quilting.

On July 6, 1957 she married Grover Johannsen at Ensign.  He preceded her in death in August 1984.

Survivors include:5 children, Donnie Johannsen, Connecticut, Tammy Smith and husband Gary, Fowler, Nola Shannon and husband Chuck, Meade, Mike Johannsen, Syracuse, Kansas and Gary Johannsen and wife Tonya, Meade; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Alma Grawer and Edna McCall and a brother, Delbert Harder.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at St. John Lutheran Church, Meade.  There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
