KINSLEY – Helen Darlene Birney, 82, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Medicalodges Kinsley, Kansas.

She was born June 24, 1938 at Panhandle, Texas the daughter of Roy E. and Zelma Irene (Whittiker) Neely. On August 2, 1959 she married Clinton Birney at Bucklin, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2012

She moved to Kinsley in 1990 and was a housekeeper for Medicalodges, homes in Kinsley and Dodge City. She was a member of the Women's Fellowship and a Deaconess of the church.

Survivors include her daughter Joetta M. Cox, Lewis, Kansas; Brother, Jerry Neely and Companion Pat, Ordway Colorado; Grandson Bucky Harris, who is stationed in Kings Bay, Georgia and lives in Jacksonville, Florida.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Larry and Steve Neely, sister, Irene Gumm.

Memorial service will be at 10:00 am Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Kinsley First Christian Church with Pastor Jim Hansel officiating. There will be no visitation cremation has taken place. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at the Bucklin Cemetery.
