Jeff
Goertzen
Oct 11, 1961 — Jan 22, 2025
MIDLAND, TEXAS - In Loving Memory of Jeff Goertzen. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad Jeff Goertzen, on January 22, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born October 11, 1961 in Dodge City, Kansas. Early in life he worked at Dillons in Dodge City and later worked in IT for Pepsi and Schlumberger Oil Company. Jeff was a great dad and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was someone you could call to lift you up or extend a helping hand. Often, he lit up the room when he walked in, making friends where ever he went. He made everyone's day a little brighter. Jeff knew how to enjoy life and he lived the way he wanted to. While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that he is with Christ. He will be dearly missed and always remembered.
He is survived by his sons, Josh and Austin Goertzen; his girlfriend, Wendy Downey; his former wife, Vicki Jackson (husband, David); his brothers, Scott March (wife, Carla), Bob Talbott and Merle Talbott (wife, Marilyn); and his sister, Lisa Dubowski (husband, Chris).
He is preceded in death by his mother, Faye Davenport and father, Vern Goertzen, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jeff had two extended families, the Talbott's and Davenport's. These were step families but not to Jeff, 100% family.
A celebration of Jeff's life will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel in Dodge City, with Darrel McMillen officiating, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the remarkable person he was. Inurnment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. You will always be loved and never forgotten.
Josh & Austin Goertzen would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the family and friends who have provided comfort, support, and love during this time of sorrow and pain. Your kindness and contributions have meant the world to us, and are forever grateful for the strength you've given us in this difficult time.
