DODGE CITY - Joan M. Huslig, 90, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.

She was born April 1, 1928 in Fowler, the daughter of William R. and Belle (Johnson) Reese.  She grew up on a farm north of Fowler and graduated from Fowler High School.  On July 12, 1948 she married Jerome Huslig at Fowler.  She lived her married life in Fowler, Minneola and moved to Spearville in 1956 where she was a lunchroom cook for Spearville USD 381 for 20 years until retiring in 1994.  In 2000 she moved to Dodge City.

Survivors include: 4 sons, Bill Huslig, Overland Park, Kansas, Keith Huslig and wife Jeanne, Kinsley, Mark Huslig and wife Mindy, Springfield, Missouri and Tom Huslig and wife Tiffany, Kent, Washington;  2 daughters, Janice Huslig, Dodge City and Nancy Nietling and husband Kurt, Dodge City; a brother, Dean Reese and wife Mary, Fowler; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerome on November 13, 1969, 3 brothers, Richard, Dale and Lloyd Reese and a sister, Lula Belle Sobba.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, April 20, 2018 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Richard Crockett officiating.  Burial will be at 3:00 pm Friday in the Fowler Cemetery.  Visitation with the family present will be Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.  The casket will remain closed.
