DODGE CITY – Kristin "Kris" Hughes, 45, died November 22, 2024, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, from complications from an infection.

She was born May 2, 1979, to Robert and Sonya Hughes in Dodge City, Kansas. She was a lifelong Dodge City resident and worked first as a server and bartender, and later owned and operated a drug testing business. She loved her friends, horses and chickens as well as her dogs, Ranger and Bumper. Her favorite times were camping with her friends at Coldwater Lake and with her dad, at the creek and especially in Pitkin, Colorado. She had the greenest thumb and could make anything outside thrive. She enjoyed gardening and harvesting vegetables and herbs. She was a skilled and creative cook and could make something delicious out of anything at hand.

She was preceded in death by her partner, Danny Shipe and her father, Robert Hughes.

She is survived by her mother, Sonya Hughes, and her sister, Jennifer Anderson (Ben) and their children Conner and Ellie.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Maple Grove Cemetery with Jeff Hiers officiating.  There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
