DODGE CITY, KANSAS – Laurie Ann Brown, 59, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Dodge City.

Laurie was born on May 13, 1967, in Amityville, New York, to Donald and Ellen Kathleen Craft. She graduated from Copiague High School in Copiague, New York, and later worked in nursing homes throughout the Dallas area before relocating to Dodge City in 2019.

She enjoyed reading, watching television — especially Gunsmoke — and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Laurie is survived by her two sons, Raymond Sanford-Barnes of Dodge City and Jarett Penermon of Denton, Texas; her daughter, Katelyn Penermon of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; her siblings Robert, Donald Jr., Darnella, Marvin, Jayne, Donna, Laatognia, and William; along with extended family and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Morti and Michael.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place, and there will be no public viewing.

Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, is handling arrangements.
