DODGE CITY - Leona M. Giebler, 90, died Monday, October 8, 2018 at her home in Dodge City.

She was born November 29, 1927 at Victoria, Kansas, the daughter of Dionysius P. and Mary (Paul) Dreiling.  On January 23, 1956 she married Alban J. Giebler at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria.  They moved to Dodge City in 1961 from Catherine, Kansas.  She was a homemaker and she and Alban owned and operated the South Dodge 66 for 24 years where she was the bookkeeper as well as a volunteer for Meals On Wheels.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City.

Survivors include: her 2 sons, Doug Giebler and wife Tina, Dodge City and Darren Giebler, Wichita; 2 brothers, Julius Dreiling and wife Darlene, Victoria and Hubert Dreiling and wife Janice, Kansas City, Missouri; her granddaughter, Amy Nease, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and 2 great grandsons, Braxten and Jace McCormick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alban on March 28, 2007, 2 sons, John Alban and John Douglas Giebler; 5 brothers and 1 sister.

Vigil service will be at 7:00 pm Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.  Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Monday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.  Visitation will be noon to 7:00 pm Sunday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
