CIMMARON - Maria Leticia Rivera passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Friday, April 12, 2024.

Maria was born on July 19, 1964 in Benito Juarez, Chihuahua to parents, Arnulfo and Socorro Rivera. Maria left her home in Mexico in 1993 to raise her then four, soon to be five children in the United States. She was a strong-willed woman and always fought to have the best life possible. Maria often spent time with her friends at church and outside of church she loved to cook; a family favorite were her enchiladas. Her children often remember her cooking with a smile on her face.

Survivors include: her five children, Nancy Cervantes, Gil Cervantes and wife Lily, Cynthia Robles and husband Juan, Fernando Cervantes and wife Elle, and Daisy Brown and her husband Ray. Maria was also blessed with 14 grandchildren; Kevin, Monic, Edwin, Yasmin, Kristopher, Khloe, Arabella, Poncho, Braylon, Brooklyn, Kaden, Everly, Harlo, and Jack.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 19 at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City with Fr. John Stang presiding. Inurnment will follow at Cimarron Cemetery, Cimarron, Kansas. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.

CIMMARON - María Leticia Rivera falleció pacíficamente rodeada de sus hijos y nietos el viernes 12 de abril de 2024.

María nació el 19 de julio de 1964 en Benito Juárez, Chihuahua, México de padres, Arnulfo y Socorro Rivera. María dejó su hogar en México en 1993 para criar a sus cuatro hijos, que pronto cumplirán cinco, en Estados Unidos. Fue una mujer de carácter fuerte y siempre luchó por tener la mejor vida posible. María solía pasar tiempo con sus amigos en la iglesia y fuera de la iglesia le encantaba cocinar; Un favorito de la familia eran sus enchiladas. Sus hijos suelen recordarla cocinando con una sonrisa en el rostro.

Le sobreviven sus cinco hijos, Nancy Cervantes, Gil Cervantes y su esposa Lily, Cynthia Robles y su esposo Juan, Fernando Cervantes y su esposa Elle, y Daisy Brown y su esposo Ray. María también fue bendecida con 14 nietos; Kevin, Monic, Edwin, Yasmin, Kristopher, Khloe, Arabella, Luis, Braylon, Brooklyn, Kaden, Everly, Harlo y Jack.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres.

La misa de fúnebre se llevará a cabo en la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe el viernes 19 de abril de 2024 a las 10:00 a.m., oficiada por el Padre John Stang. El entierro seguirá a la misa en el cementerio Cimarron en Cimarron, Kansas. No habrá visitas públicas ya que se ha llevado a cabo la cremación.
