DODGE CITY – Maria "Marina" Garcia, 84, died Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Trinity Manor in Dodge City.

She was born on December 26, 1936 in San Miguel el Alto Jalisco, Mexico the daughter of Esteban Gonzalez and Justina Lozano. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and especially taking care of her grandsons. She loved being with her family and traveling back to Mexico to see family and friends. She worked in California as a laborer for a fruit distribution company. Marina was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City.

She was married to Jesus Garcia, he preceded her in death.

Survivors include: her daughter, Verenice Soto and husband Abel, Dodge City; 2 sons, Jose de Jesus Garcia and wife Agueda and Saul Garcia and wife Veronica, both of Dodge City; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; and 8 grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, and multiple brothers and sisters.

Rosary will be at 9:30 am on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am at the church with Fr. Rudin Din presiding. Inurnment will be at a later date in Jalisco, Mexico. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
