DODGE CITY – Marty Swaim, 55 was born December 3, 1969 in La Junta, Colorado. He passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 in Dodge City, Kansas.

Marty was a loving husband to Sally, and a son to Dorothy Schnabel, a father to Robert, Kenny, David, Jon, Shalia, Sean and Kim.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; his mother, Dorothy; his children, Kenny, David, Jon, Shalia, Sean and Kim; his brother, Ivan Schnabel; his grandchildren, Jonathan and Carter and his great grandchild, Jesse.

He is preceded in death by his son, Robert; his father, Dave and his brother, Brett.

He loved to play the guitar; he was an untrained musical talent. For all his life, Marty would be the one you could count on to be there for you if needed.

Marty was a Maintenance Supervisor for Cargill at the time of his passing. He would take care of the equipment in the meatpacking industry and devoting his chosen career to Southwestern Kansas.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 10:00 am at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City with Pastor Mike Macwhinnie officiating. There will be no public viewing as cremation has taken place. Family and friends may sign the register book Tuesday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to SWKS K9 Pawsibilities (He was an advocate of animals, especially dogs) in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
