Michael
Leahy
Feb 20, 1960 — Oct 3, 2021
Michael (Mike) "Lefty" Robert Leahy, 61, made his grand exit on October 3, 2021. Mike was born February 20, 1960 in Boston, MA, son of the late Francis and Helen (Fay) Leahy.
He is survived by his bothers John Leahy and wife Kathy, James Leahy and wife Denise, Paul Leahy, and preceded in death by his brother Francis (Butchie) Leahy. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by many close friends whom he valued greatly.
Mike worked in computer technology for Proctor & Gamble/Gillette for 30+ years before retiring in 2019. He also owned F.U. feel P.C. Hopeless, assisting restaurants with websites and computers in both Boston and Plymouth, MA. After retirement, Mike moved to Doge City, KS to live with his longtime girlfriend Susan Mahurin, where he quickly became family to her two daughters, their spouses, and known as Gampy to her five grandchildren. Growing up in Boston, MA and his Irish heritage shaped the man Mike was. He loved celebrating St Patrick's Day with corn beef and cabbage paired with Irish beer and Jameson. His Thanksgiving meal tradition in Plymouth, MA was also a treat in Mike's eyes. Mike was an avid supporter of the NRA, a member of the Plymouth Rod and Gun Club, Santa Fe Train Sportsman's Gun Club of Dodge City, KS, and the Ford City County Citizen Police Department. Mike always enjoyed watching his home team the Boston Bruins, and during retirement spent time watching Gordon Ramsey and crafting "masterpieces" with his Ninja Foodie. Mike had a true love of animals, enjoying his volunteer time by serving as General & Surrender Hotline Coordinator for GSRNE since 2015. We are sure if there is a place for passed pets and "old dogs", we would find Mike there hugging his cats. Mike will surely be missed for being the life of the party with his sarcastic sense of humor, his never-ending jokes, and for all of the laughs that came from simply being in his presence.
At the family's request, any expressions of sympathy should be made in the form of a donation in Michael's name to the GSRNA – German Shepard Rescue of New England at PO Box 299, Wayland, MA 01778 or online at gsrne.org
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
