DODGE CITY – Rellis "Andy" Smith, 63, died Sunday, February 2, 2025 at his home in Great Bend.

He was born January 19, 1962 in Syracuse, Kansas, the son of Tommy Everett and Marilyn Joan (York) Smith.  He was a graduate of Syracuse High School and received his Associates Degree form Garden City Community College.  He was a longtime resident of Ulysses and Dodge City, moving to Great Bend on January 3, 2025.  He worked for Pioneer Communications for over 16 years, later working for the Gray and Ford County Sheriff's Departments as a dispatcher as well as in the Accounting Department at National Beef in Dodge City.  For the past 6 years he was the IT Director at Arrowhead West.

He enjoyed computers and loved spending time with his grandson.

Survivors include: his daughter, Brittany Burroughs and fiancé Ryan Baker, Great Bend; his grandson, Jesus Valdez, Ulysses; and best friend, Albert Pauda, Jetmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Tammy Smith.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Monday, February 10, 2025 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Scott Tilley officiating.  Burial will be at 1:00 pm MST on Monday in the Syracuse Cemetery with Dave Keeton officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
