Obituary

DODGE CITY – Richard "Rick" Hinderliter, 74, died Saturday, April 24, 2021 at SunPorch in Dodge City.

He was born February 23, 1947. He was the jack of all trades. He knew a little bit about everything but never quite enough about any one thing. He liked to fix things and always had "extree" parts left, but somehow made it work. He always wanted to know what the next meal would be, even while still eating the first one. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching westerns on TV, and gardening. He liked leather and wood working, making many pieces for his family. He loved his family especially the children, you could always find him with a kid, or a pet on his lap, spoiling them, and giving out treats.

On March 17, 1978 he married Lois (Castor) Hinderliter at Dumas, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2017.

Survivors include: 5 children, Kevin Hinderliter, Columbia, Mississippi, John Hinderliter and wife Sylvia, Harker Heights, Texas, Bill Ragan and wife Karolyn, Dodge City, Tammy Creamer, Dodge City and Michael Ragan, Branson, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Alex Hinderliter, Burkhardt Hinderliter, Rusty Crecilius, Ashley Ragan, Zachary Creamer, Tierra Ragan-Hudson, Kiriana Ragan, Nastasha Ragan, Adrian Drescher, Nelly Rivera, Willie Rivera, and Ricardo Rivera; 16 great grandchildren; and one niece, Tammy Swinburne and husband Tock, Chickasha, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Kenny Hinderliter in December 1988, and one daughter-in-law, Kathy.
