DODGE CITY – Robert Bruce Calhoon, 75 died Monday, September 8, 2025 at Trinity Manor, Dodge City.

He was born on December 9, 1949 at Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of Robert Newton Calhoon and Patricia Ann Jefferson. He was a Dodge City resident for the last 40 years moving from Oakland, Iowa. He worked for National Beef for 40 years as the Maintenance Supervisor. Robert enjoyed riding his motorcycle, helping with the chili cook off during Dodge City Days and reading. During his younger days he enjoyed participating in wrestling, volleyball and softball.

On April 15, 2011 he married Debbie Calhoon. She preceded him death on January 24, 2017

Survivors include: 2 daughters, Michelle Rinkol and husband Kenneth, Norfolk, Nebraska and Jennifer Rose and husband Todd, San Marcos, Texas; 2 brothers, Rick Calhoon and wife Barb, Worthington, Minnesota and Jeff Calhoon and wife Deb, Avoca, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Ashlea Vetick and husband Dylan, Tori Johnson and husband Douglas and Crystal Rinkol and fiancé Gregory Coyle; 3 great grandchildren, Freya Vetick, Rhett Johnson and Charlotte Johnson.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Roger Lee Calhoon.

A come and go celebration of life will be Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.
