Sally (Christina Perez)
Smith
Aug 6, 1954 — May 27, 2026
Spearville
SPEARVILLE - Sally Smith (Christina Perez), 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on August 6, 1954, in Denver, Colorado, Sally spent much of her life in the beautiful state she called home. She grew up in Denver and lived throughout many parts of Colorado over the years, creating memories and friendships wherever life took her. Though her journey began in Colorado, her heart eventually found peace in Spearville, Kansas, where she later moved with her daughter and family and spent her remaining years surrounded by love and comfort.
Sally was married in 1984 and later widowed in 2000. Through every season of life, she carried herself with strength, compassion, and love for those around her.
Determined and hardworking, Sally earned her GED and dedicated more than 20 years of her life serving others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Caring for people was not simply a job to Sally—it was part of who she was. She gave comfort, kindness, and dignity to countless people throughout her career before retiring and moving to Spearville, Kansas, to be closer to her daughter and family.
Sally was also a gifted seamstress whose creativity brought joy to so many. She loved sewing and creating beautiful handmade pieces for friends, family, and anyone in need of something made with love. Her hands created treasures, but it was her heart behind them that made them truly special.
A devoted Catholic, Sally held tightly to her faith throughout her life and illness. Although her health no longer allowed her to regularly attend church, her faith never wavered and remained a source of comfort and strength until her final days.
Sally will be remembered most for the love she gave so freely. She was outgoing, funny, caring, and full of life. She loved deeply, especially when it came to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her laughter, stories, kindness, and warm spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those blessed enough to know her.
She is survived by her loving children: daughter Coco Nightengale (Socorro) and husband James Nightengale of Spearville, Kansas; son Andre Meastas and wife Lindsay Meastas of Thornton, Colorado; son Julio Perez and wife Trista Perez of Denver, Colorado; and daughter Felicia Roselas and husband Jacob Roselas of Lakewood, Colorado.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Eternity, James Jr., Valor, Kailey, Sebastian, Zaden, Megan, Zoie, Eliana, Gisele, Rodney, Jazlin, Janaea, Lola, Brianna, Dalina, Juan, Samuel, Jasia, Zoe, ZaraJune, Zipporah, Zoleah, and Grace, along with many beloved great-grandchildren who brought her endless pride and happiness.
Arrangements are entrusted to Ziegler Funeral Chapel. No formal services will be held at this time. Family and friends who knew and loved Sally are welcome to send their condolences and share memories in honor of her life. Condolences may be sent to www.zieglerfuneralchapel.com
Though Sally is no longer with us in body, the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
