CIMARRON – Sharon Ann McPhail, 74 died Friday, May 5, 2023 at St. Catherine's Hospital, Dodge City.

She was born July 21, 1948 at Grinnell, Kansas the daughter of Richard and Luetta (Beckman) Baalman. She worked as a secretary at B&P Auto Parts for over 30 years in Cimarron and also helped her husband with his book keeping.

Sharon was a very giving person, she always put everyone first even if that meant that she had to go without. She loved to crochet, knit, do puzzles, play games on her iPad, and enjoyed talking to people especially at her coffee group. She enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, Lorretta Lynn and many others. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

On June 25, 1966 she married Virgil McPhail at Oakley, Kansas. He survives.

Survivors also include: 3 children, Stephanie Ann McPhail, De Soto, Kansas, Stephen Michael McPhail and wife Angie and Christopher Paul McPhail both of Cimarron; 2 sisters, Kathy Harb, Florida and Linda Wickham, Hays, Kansas; 3 brothers, Dennis Baalman, Monument, Kansas, Rick Baalman, Grinnell, Kansas and Roger Baalman, Hays, Kansas; 5 grandchildren, Ryan and Emily Clark, Samantha Rascon and husband Alex and Adam and Alex McPhail; 2 great grandchildren, Alaina and Alessia Rascon; and aunt, Pat Carpenter, Newalla, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Susan Baalman.

There will be a come and go with family present on Sunday, May 14, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron, Kansas. There will be no public viewing as cremation has taken place.
