SPEARVILLE – Susie A. Hampton, 60, died Monday, October 5, 2026 at St. Catherines of Dodge City.

She was born the loving daughter of Laura Elizabeth Hampton (Harlon) on January 30th, 1966. She was defined not by how hard she worked for Walmart, Stewart Plumbing and Heating, The Merc, or Cargill, but the love and support she gave to friends and family alike. Always easy to talk to, she was there for you whether you needed a supportive ear or a fierce, loyal ally.

She always put family before her desires, choosing to stay and be here for both her brother, Lee "Butch" Hampton Jr (or Botchie as she called him), and her mother, Laura Elizabeth Hampton, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, JJ Chapman whom she showered with more love than a thousand words could express.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 7, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Church, Spearville, with Fr. Emmanuel Kosikumah and Fr. Ted Stoecklein presiding and the afterparty at the Parish Center at 11:30 am, for the stories that were a little too much fun. Dress code is as colorful as you can get, hers was a life to be celebrated!

Visitations will occur facing the east with each morning sun. That is where her spirit is now, not her ashes.
