MONTEZUMA – Virginia Mae (Jantz) Luthi, 96, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade.

She was born December 23, 1926 at Montezuma, the daughter of Elmer H. and Agnes L. (Unruh) Jantz.  She was a graduate Lamont High School, Lamont, Kansas and on January 15, 1946 she married Paul A. Luthi at Lamont.  She was a homemaker while raising her children.  Later, she became the manager of the Dairy Treat in Elkhart and Minneola as well as a cook at Minneola Long Term Care until her retirement at which time she and Paul moved close to Branson, Missouri moving to Dodge City in 2003.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Robert Luthi and wife Rosemary, Great Bend and Ronald Luthi and wife Marva, Branson; a daughter, Tena Walsh, Big Spring, Texas; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons; a sister, Frances Wade, Denver, Colorado; and 2 sisters-in-law, Eula Jantz, Windsor, Colorado and Naomi Jantz, Minneola.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul, on July 10, 2004, 4 sons, Max, Douglas, Ray and Donald Luthi, her daughter, Anita Luthi and 3 brothers, Gene, Orlando and Kenneth Jantz.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Morningside Cemetery, south of Montezuma, with Pastor Kenneth Harder officiating.  There will be no public viewing.  The casket will remain closed.
