DODGE CITY – Yolanda Gonzales, 66, died Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.

She was born May 10, 1955 at Mercedes, Texas, the daughter of Alfredo and Francisca (Briones) Gonzales.  A Dodge City resident for the past year, moving from Ft. Morgan, Colorado, she worked as a construction flagger.

She enjoyed listening to music, traveling and especially her grandchildren.

On August 30, 2019 she married Oscar Galaviz.  He survives.

Other survivors include: 2 sons, Raul Botello and wife Elvira, Ft. Morgan and Lorenzo Figueroa and wife Aracely, Dodge City; her father, Alfredo, Santa Rosa, Texas; siblings, Viola Retana and husband Vicente, Ft. Morgan, Gloria Gonzales and husband Vicente, Garden City, Zulema Rubio, Kerrville, Texas, Rick Gonzales and wife Kelly, Washington, Pete Gonzales and companion Ruth, Harlingen, Texas and Joey Gonzales and wife Mirna, LaSara, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Fred Gonzales.

Rosary will be at 1:00 pm Monday, October 25, 2021 at St. Mary Church, Garden City.  Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 pm Monday at the church with Fr. Jacob Schneider presiding.  Inurnment will be at a later date.  There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
